Hymn Give Me Jesus
Call to Worship From Taught by Love by Lavon Baylor
God summons us to wake up and see.
Light has come to lead us to all that is good.
Our eyes have been opened to God’s goodness.
We seek to live as children of light.
God sees beyond our outward appearance.
God knows the intent of our hearts.
We are here to find out what is pleasing to God.
We want to know what is right and true.
God listens to all who worship sincerely.
Praise God with openness and obedience.
We seek to know and follow God’s will.
This is a day to do the works of God.
Hymn Be Thou My Vision
Prayer and Lord’s Prayer
From Lectionary Worship Aids Cycle A by H. Burnham Kirkland
We know, O God, that without your help our search is in vain, our efforts are useless, and our worship is cold. Warm our hearts, strengthen our wills, and sharpen our minds, so that your name will be honored and our faith will be firmly established.
We cry out together as with those around the world: Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever. Amen.
Gloria Patri
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost; as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen, Amen
